RM NewPassword Command --Friday.Mar.13.98-- \NEWPASSWORD (v.1.1 - 3/2/98) This command is taught in the VLA course RAINMAN Plus 101: The Basics. __Description______________________________ \NEWPASSWORD allows you to create or change the password that you are required to enter to send information to RAINMAN. A RAINMAN password is a security measure to protect your RAINMAN area. A password must be included at the beginning of every script. If the password is not included or is incorrect, RAINMAN cannot process the script. If you don't already have an RM+ password, you may establish one by using this command (until the mandatory password feature is installed - see the Special Note below*). Your script would look like this: \password \newpassword \group Once you already have a password, you can use the \newpassword command to change it in this manner: \password \newpassword \group Only one password is required per user screenname, not one for each RM+ group you access. __Special Note___________________ *Creation of a RAINMAN password for a user who has not previously had one can be done by the use of this command only until such time that RAINMAN absolutely requires the use of passwords. After that time (late March 1998), passwords must be requested through ARC. ----------- COMPILED BY: America Online - Copyrighted ADAPTED BY: Varian PROOFED BY: CONFIDENTIAL: Yes LOCATION: InformatiONLINE Reference > Text/Document Management > RAINMAN Plus Information > Index of Commands ~=~=~
